Readers

Readers proclaim the Word of God during the celebration of the Liturgy of the Word within the Mass.  To be a good reader, one must live the Word, study the Word, and pray the Word.  You are presenting Jesus Christ to the people.  The following are expectations for anyone wishing to enter the Ministry of Reader...

• Training is arranged by the ministry coordinator. 
• Every reader spends time praying over and practicing the readings during the week prior to their assigned Sunday Mass.
• The Reader is responsible to:
  • Show up when scheduled.
  • Request time off from the coordinator before the new schedule comes out.
  • Obtain a copy of the new schedule when it comes out and immediately review it.
  • Find a replacement if you are unable to fulfill your assignment.
