The Sacrament of Baptism is the beginning of the entire Christian life. Baptism is “rebirth,” because in the waters of Baptism we relinquish our life apart from God. By dying and rising with Christ, our life becomes forever united to His.
In the celebration of Baptism, parents are reminded that they are the first teachers of their child in the ways of faith. St. Patrick community promises to help you in this task through its programs of faith formation as your child grows and celebrates the Sacraments of Initiation.
To prepare for your child’s Baptism, parents are invited to call the Church and register for the baptismal session which takes place at various times throughout the year. Parents and Godparents are required to attend this class prior to their child’s Baptism. These sessions will give couples an understanding of the Theology of Baptism and its ritual. Baptism must be scheduled a month in advance. The Sacrament of Baptism is administered during the 10 AM Mass on Sunday. If you wish to have your child baptized, contact Fr. Charles Leke.
